TRAVEL: EP 001

As a triple celebration (Mother's Day, my graduation, and my brother's birthday), my family plus David went on a trip to the mountains -- Bucari, Leon, also known as Iloilo's "little Baguio".

It became a talk of the town and obviously we wanted to check it out too. After patiently waiting for my graduation (because superstition says you have to be extra careful before graduation day), we finally fed our curiosities.

Leon, known as the 'Summer Capital of Iloilo', is 58 km away (according to wikipedia) from Iloilo City, and Bucari is situated in the highlands of Leon and Alimodian. More information: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bucari_Area,_Iloilo.

Your destination would be the Bucari Pine Forest in Sitio Tabionan. It's still a few kilometers uphill the town proper, and let me tell you the road going up is a bit challenging. It's just straight ahead and there will be a few signs that will somehow guide your way. If you're a bit lost and confused, don't hesitate to ask the locals.
